The Fox Mine:
This mine has been in operation since the 1800’s and is still continuing to produce quality turquoise. The Fox mine has many variations of turquoise from aqua to deep forest green. It is always interesting and will include unique water spots, water webbing and many variations of matrix.
This mine was owned during the 70’s by Mr. Dowell Ward. Dowell was known very well though out the turquoise community and he is still remembered very fondly today. Many of his friends continue to recount stories of him gambling with turquoise nuggets in Las Vegas and at the Commercial in Elko Nevada. These fond memories include his wife Fay Ward who now owns the Fox mine.
The following photos are of the Fox Mine in the early and late 60's. (Click on any photo for a larger view)

The Pixie Mine:
This mine offers very hard turquoise that ranges in color from the softest, subtlest green to the most intense emerald green you will ever encounter in turquoise. The higher grades polish to a glass sparkle, and even the lower grades offer splendid glossiness. This turquoise has black matrix that offers a stunning contrast in color.

#8 Turquoise:
This turquoise has not been mined since the 70’s when the Newmont mine destroyed what was left of this turquoise mine. There is however an existing stockpile that Mr. Dowell Ward had socked away for later sorting. This turquoise is a collector item because once the reserve is gone there will be no more material released onto the market.

Chrysophrase:
We offer both yellow and green chrysophrase. The yellow is a bright lemon color with golden brown threads of matrix that occasionally drift through the stone. This is softer than the green version of this stone, making it easily shaped and drilled for interesting accent or focal beads.
The green chrysophrase is very hard and takes a great polish. It is slightly translucent making this piece ideal for visual texture and as a design focus.
Both of these types of chrysophrase are from Australia.
